John Brown- Fall Update

Part of my absence from regular blog entries over the last three months has been due to my current labor of love, the children's book- John Brown: The Oath of Freedom.

In celebration of the 149th anniversary of Brown's Raid on Harpers Ferry (tomorrow actually), here's a preview of two interior spreads. Now, back to work- today I'm drawing Frederick Douglass!

Looking rad, John.

Also, I have a proposal for your next labor of love. Expect a phone call soon.

If it would be a children's book about Dietrich Bonhoffer's plot to assassinate Hilter, then you read my mind!

Beautiful work. I really love the hand and quill defining the state line.

Great work, JH. You are making the Old Man's 21st century comeback undeniable. John Brown is shaking off the lies, prejudice, and ignorance of the 20th century. No one can draw John Brown like you. Can't wait to see it in print!

Top drawing truly gorgeous. Great color and value control of the night scene, including the little spot of light on the rear right wheel of the wagon. Sweet.
